Bishkek to tighten oversight of roadworks quality, review contractors over 2025 projects
Bishkek authorities are set to strengthen oversight of roadworks quality and contractor performance. According to the city administration, Deputy Mayor Ramiz Aliyev ordered the creation of a special commission to conduct a comprehensive inspection of roads built in 2025.
The move follows an assessment of the condition of newly completed sites. The commission has 10 days to inspect the road sections and prepare recommendations regarding companies found to have committed violations.
City officials will consider placing non-compliant contractors on a blacklist. In parallel, disciplinary measures may be taken against staff responsible for oversight and acceptance of works — including possible dismissal.
Heads of four administrative districts have also been instructed to fix identified defects once weather conditions become favorable.
Aliyev added that in 2026 the city administration does not plan to work with contractors who failed to meet their obligations in 2025.
