Bishkek plans reconstruction of a section of Manas Avenue and extension of Mederov Street along the Ala-Archa River in spring 2026
Bishkek plans to reconstruct a section of Manas Avenue in spring 2026, including the construction of a road interchange. The project also предусматривает extending Mederov Street along the Ala-Archa River, the city administration reported.
According to the municipality, during an on-site inspection Mayor Aybek Dzhunushaliev reviewed the project, which also includes opening through Tabaldiev Street. After the works are completed, Mederov Street will become two-lane along its entire length up to Manas Avenue.
The mayor instructed relevant services to prepare alternative traffic routes in advance for the construction period, inspect facilities located within the water-protection zone, and draw up a base plan of residential buildings in the area.
As part of the visit, Dzhunushaliev also went to the municipal enterprise “Bishkeksvet,” where various street-lighting pole options from different manufacturers were presented. Following the review, 8.5-meter poles made in China were selected. City officials noted that similar poles have already been installed on Molodaya Gvardiya Boulevard between Bokonbaev Street and Zhibek Zholu Avenue.
In addition, the mayor inspected a section of Kronshtadtskaya Street, where an extension is planned from Messarosh Street to Fuchik Street. The municipality also reported an inspection of sanitary tree pruning on Vasilyevsky Trakt, with workers instructed to intensify curbside cleaning, raise tree canopies, and prepare conditions for the later installation of lighting poles.
